Job Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a department as a Health Services Complaints Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, triaging, and resolving health services complaints in a timely and comprehensive manner.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive and triage written and verbal health services complaints, notifications, and enquiries while conducting thorough and timely reviews of incoming material.
  • Assist the Manager in assessing risk and prioritizing complaint processing according to risk presented to public health and safety.
  • Create and maintain accurate complaint and enquiry records in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement processes to ensure best practice in complaints management.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Detailed understanding of the Queensland Healthcare environment.
  • Previous experience working within the Government Sector.
  • Liaise with line managers and senior officers to escalate matters of high risk requiring immediate action or investigation.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders regarding their concerns about health services or health practitioners.
  • Proactively communicate relevant information to stakeholders as required.
  • Prepare correspondence to complainants seeking further information or providing administrative decisions and reasons.
  • Contribute to performance data collation regarding receipt and processing of high-risk complaints.
