About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic educator to join our team at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT). As a Travel and Tourism Educator, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality training and education to students pursuing careers in tourism, travel, and related fields.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver educational programs that provide students with the opportunity to achieve the required training outcomes, using flexible, innovative, and blended learning tools.
  • Apply CIT quality training and assessment systems, including subject mapping, program review and improvement, moderation, industry validation, and the development of assessment tools and subject guides.
  • Contribute to an inclusive high-performing team through innovative practice, collaboration, and teamwork.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with industry and internal stakeholders to promote, support, and inform Travel and Tourism programs.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant records of student activity and performance, and update student progress and other details on the institute's student information management system.
Selection Criteria

The following capabilities form the criteria that are required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position:

  • Demonstrated ability to provide quality learning experiences to a range of student cohorts, including clear and timely feedback to students and strategies for improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience with current and new industry practices in the field of Travel and Tourism.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member, with minimum supervision, utilizing well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability in the use of computer-based management information systems.
Eligibility/Other Requirements

Mandatory qualifications and/or registrations/licensing:

  • Relevant degree or vocational qualification in Travel and Tourism.
  • Relevant industry experience in Travel and Tourism.

Desirable:

  • Experience and/or a qualification in Hospitality and Events, or a related field.
  • Working With Vulnerable People Card.
