Business Development Leader

The Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned business development professional to drive growth in the drilling consumables sector. This pivotal role combines strategic market development with hands-on leadership to deliver sustained revenue growth and client success.

Main Responsibilities

This position involves:

  • Accelerating market growth through targeted sales strategies, increasing market share in core and emerging segments.
  • Optimising sales operations by introducing structured sales processes and performance metrics, driving measurable improvements in conversion rates, client retention, and revenue per account.
  • Expanding the client portfolio by identifying, engaging, and securing new high-value clients while deepening relationships with existing clients to unlock cross-selling and up-selling opportunities.
  • Market intelligence gathering, monitoring sales activity and industry trends to identify and convert domestic growth opportunities into tangible sales results.
  • Client engagement through regular site visits to major clients and key prospects, ensuring a trusted technical partner relationship.
  • Representing the company at targeted conferences, expos, and industry events to strengthen brand presence, create new sales leads, and position the company as a thought leader in the mining and minerals sector.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Proven experience within the drilling consumables sector.
  • Experience within a similar role with a proven track record of driving sales and developing new and existing business.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to strategise sales, understand contract terms and conditions.
  • Existing networks within the industry are advantageous.
