Senior Media Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Communications Professional to oversee media engagement, develop proactive content and collaborate with our Social Media Team to ensure impactful storytelling.

The ideal candidate will contribute to speechwriting, media reporting and optimization, while supporting senior leaders in issues management. As part of the team, you'll participate in on-call media rotations, monitor news, and analyze trends to shape EA's reputation and advocacy efforts.

  • Media Engagement – Manage reactive media inquiries, deliver proactive content, coordinate interviews, brief spokespeople, and create collateral such as press releases, communication plans, and key messages.
  • Speechwriting – Craft speeches for EA's Speakers Bureau aligned with media content and policy priorities.
  • Social media – Develop and publish content supporting media activities, providing backup to the Social Media Specialist when needed.
  • Issues & Crisis Management – Support the Head of Media & External Communications in managing issues and crises as they arise.
  • Reporting & Analysis – Utilize EA's media monitoring platform to deliver daily news updates, provide tailored reports, track emerging issues, and share insights with stakeholders.

  • Media Relations Expertise – Experience in a front-line media role with a proven track record of generating positive coverage supporting business objectives.
  • Advocacy & Political Awareness – Strong understanding of traditional and social media roles in advocacy, along with knowledge of political processes, government, and peak bodies.
  • Exceptional Writing Skills – Ability to craft compelling press releases, opinion pieces, communication plans, speeches, and briefing materials often distilling complex information.
  • Relationship Building – Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, pitch stories effectively, and create engaging social media content complementing traditional media.
  • Insights & Continuous Improvement – Familiarity with media monitoring, analytics, and emerging trends to identify issues early, provide actionable insights, and continuously improve communication outcomes.
