Senior Social Media Specialist
Docklands location [hybrid work model with
super
flexible WFH arrangements]
Candidate must be Melbourne/Naarm-based due to the nature of the role
Full-time [12 month contract, with the view to permanency]
100k per annum dependent on experience, plus super
Start date? … we're ready when you are
About you
You're the kinda person who doesn't just manage social media, you
lead
it. You've got that intense love for everything related to social media, and content, and supercharging that associated growth for your client/s. You absolutely bask in digital storytelling and creating scroll-stopping content across all mediums: the written word, right through to video storytelling.
The real clincher for us, though? You're not only caught up in the dreaming it, but you are an
expert
at the 'do'... especially when it comes to project managing everything that goes into managing social media at an agency level so that the client feels like they have an absolute
leader
on their activity, and someone who is fluent in reducing their associated mental load via 100/10 project management skills.
You can dream all o' the ideas, but also know how to dot every project management 'i' and cross every project management 't'.
Finally, you've got a plethora of experience leading client comms. You're the kind of senior Social Media Specialist whose perfect role is staying "on the tools" associated with bringing a powerful social media strategy to life… whilst also nailing the magic associated with expert-led client comms/relationship building and nurturing. Because it is an
art,
innit? Ha
If you think you're that artist? … let's talk
But first? You'll probably wanna know about our company
We're here to set the standard for what a digital marketing agency can be – where creativity meets integrity, and where high standards are worn like a badge of honour.
It's where people with humility, hunger and smarts come to do the best work of their careers. And it's here where we champion a workplace where the most underrated trait – effort – is everything.
We're building the agency for people who care deeply, work intentionally, and are here to grow, not coast. And we care deeply in return. We're a values-led workplace with enough business acumen to recognise that you can't run on values alone… and so we run on excellence, sustainability, and a team that hits KPIs like they matter – because they do.
Culture is the reward.
But performance is the requirement.
This is the place for people who don't know how to do things half-heartedly, because neither do we.
We're just Kind Geniuseswho are unapologetically tryhard.
Because tryhards? … well, they change the game.
What we're looking for:
- We're not going to lie, this role has some
big
shoes to fill, given that the person who established this role has grown this particular department so well… we actually need another of her [big shoes to fill? Sure. But the right person for this role will feel
so inspired
hearing that].
- 5-6+ years of experience working as a social media manager and/or social media specialist within an agency/client-side role.
- An ideal team player: you're hungry, you're humble, and you're smart.
- You're confident leading client projects and engaging, collaborating and presenting to clients
- You have experience planning and managing client projects from initiation through to closure meeting deadlines and profitability goals
- preferably client-facing [and leading], i.e you're comfortable to engage, collaborate and present to clients.
- Excellent management skills to work to stringent deadlines via strong organisational skills, prioritising time management and meeting deadlines… all whilst juggling multiple tasks with multiple timelines.
- Experience reporting on organic social media performance, providing insights and recommendations for continual optimisation.
- Someone who is
never
down to just "tick a content box" and share content for content's sake: we want you to think in 24/7 "we can do better than this" so that our clients experience that feeling of "I can't believe I get to work with an
ideas machine
like this"
- You genuinely
love
social media, and you're the kinda person who goes for a 15 minute walk… and comes back and says to the team "so… I've had this incredible idea for [insert client here]".
- Exceptional storytelling abilities, with a knack for creating compelling narratives that resonate with a B2B audience across various social media channels.
- You're a copywriting
fiend
who is regularly used to receiving client feedback like "it's like… you're
in my HEAD".
- Second-to-none attention to detail.
- Keen to own the projects you lead and subsequently run with them with the kinda autonomy you'd expect to see in a Senior Social Media Specialist role.
- You're familiar with Google Suite and project management tools like Asana, and you know time tracking is never about agency micromanagement… and everything to do with agency lyf. #lol.
- Ambition to learn and grow, and become an incredible creative leader within our company [and your field].
Nice to have's
- Experience with paid ads management advantageous
- Basic photo/video editing and design knowledge.
- Psst… don't tell our Founder we told you this, but, uh, she's got a
special spot
for Senior Social Media Specialists who have an active LinkedIn presence and show passion for the work they do within this industry [or you
plan
to show up to LinkedIn a little more] ;)
- B2C experience across multiple industries, with a specialist focus in eComm. For large brands.
[Bluddy] nice to have's
- You add to a company's culture, and get the "ick" from folks out there who detract from culture [life's short, our business is small/er, we don't suit the folks who detract from our culture].
- You're a lifelong learner [because you'll be surrounded by them here] with an openness and ability to learn new concepts and systems quickly.
Why Work With Us
- We design our workplace policies around diverse lived experiences, and subsequently have some of the most humanistic, encouraging and progressive policies.
- Really hybrid approach to work, i.e x6 office days per month.
- Paid Life Leave.
- Paid birthday leave.
- Generous yearly L&D budget.
- We don't believe in artificial harmony, and instead foster a really accountable workplace culture where you're safe to own your mistakes, and
encouraged
to get comfortable with giving feedback as well as receiving it.
- Our folks come to our workplace to do the best work of their careers, and the associated personal and professional growth is like nothing you can describe until you're here, surrounded by unapologetic tryhards, in a culture that celebrates reclaiming the "tryhard status" we all gave up on in year 8 out of necessity… and then went on to reclaim in adulthood.
Our inclusivity promise
