About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Yard Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team at Select Plant Australia. This role will be responsible for coordinating inventory, supporting workshop and site operations, and ensuring the safe working of the yard and stores area.

The successful candidate will be located at our modern Select Plant Australia - Laverton North Depot on a permanent, full-time basis, under the support of a collaborative and inclusive team.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on major local and remote infrastructure construction projects, be mentored by highly experienced industry maintenance experts, and have access to modern air-conditioned workshops with safe and comfortable facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing deliveries, traffic, and general storage of plant and equipment.
  • Identify damaged and/or incorrectly supplied goods and complete delivery dockets for outgoing goods, plant, and equipment.
  • Pack and load goods for internal and external customers and manage inventory, stock-taking, and tracking of workshop consumables.
  • Load and unload goods from internal and external transport carriers and assist various tradespersons.
  • Assist with dropping off and picking up items/materials and perform general yard duties, housekeeping, machine cleaning, and waste management.
  • Carry out prestart checks on plant and equipment and report machinery faults and safety concerns.
  • Accurately complete paperwork as required by stores and workshop team and monitor yard access, coordinating safe and efficient traffic flow, and minimise congestion.
About You

To be considered for this role, you must have experience in a similar role in a logistics, plant hire, or construction environment. You will be safety orientated, motivated, reliable, and possess excellent communication skills.

You will be a self-starter who takes pride and ownership in your work, and has the desire to drive best-practise operational processes.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a similar role.
  • Australian driver's licence – Manual C Class (minimum).
  • Australian Construction Induction Card (Blue/White Card).
  • Unrestricted Australian Working Rights.
  • Current Forklift ticket.
  • Intermediate computer literacy.
  • Physically Fit.
  • Willingness to learn/upskill to add value to the Select Operations support team.
Advantageous but not Essential:
  • Manual HR Licence.
  • High Risk Work License: CV, CN, C6, WP, RB, DG.
  • Load Restraint Awareness Training.
  • Chain of Responsibility awareness.
  • Certificate: Loading and Unloading of Plant and Equipment.

We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including industry-leading paid parental leave policy, family-friendly work practices, additional purchased leave option, and coaching programs for staff on parental leave.
