About the Role

This is a senior geology position that plays a crucial part in ensuring coal quality and productivity at our open cut operation.

Our company seeks an experienced Mine Geologist with strong knowledge of coal quality, beneficiation and mine design principles to lead the development and implementation of coal quality and handling strategies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Optimise coal mined and crushed performance to improve productivity and quality.
  • Develop daily coal mining and stockpiling plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Accurately record coal inventory movements for short-term scheduling purposes.
  • Assist in conventional mine geology processes including data collection, interpretation and reporting.
  • Undertake projects and investigations to identify improvement initiatives and drive outcomes.
Requirements
  • Qualifications in Geology or Mining Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of coal quality and mine design principles.
  • Experience working in open cut coal mining environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in geological software and tools.
