Job Description

Medibank is seeking a seasoned leader to take on the role of Squad Lead, supporting secure technology delivery and enabling innovation while managing cyber risk. The successful candidate will oversee critical functions that form a vital capability within the cyber security ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Business Information Security Officers (BISOs) who ensure security is embedded into business initiatives from the outset.
  • Lead the delivery of Medibank's cyber security program, including strategy and roadmap development.
  • Drive security awareness and training initiatives to empower employees to manage cyber risks.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in a leadership role overseeing business solutions delivery and security integration within complex enterprise environments.

Strong expertise in cybersecurity principles and frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST CSF, and APRA CPS 234, with practical experience embedding security controls throughout the solution lifecycle.

Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex technical and security concepts clearly to stakeholders.

Required Skills and QualificationsSkills and Experience:
  • Leadership role with broad expertise and a track record of delivering business-aligned security outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and mature problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, or equivalent.

A proven ability to foster collaboration and influence across diverse teams, driving a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement.

Experience leading or supporting security awareness and training initiatives that build organisational resilience and a proactive security mindset.
