Grounds and Facilities Support Specialist

The Facilities Maintenance Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation and presentation of the school by maintaining its grounds and facilities to a high standard.
This position involves performing routine tasks such as general maintenance, groundskeeping, and basic upkeep, following clear instructions and working independently where appropriate.
The successful candidate will support a variety of security duties at the school, including using and maintaining the school security systems, banking of funds, and locking and unlocking buildings within core hours.
- Clearing and hosing of drains and gutters; collection of waste, food and paper on school grounds as agreed by relevant staff and the Principal, Business Manager and/or nominated delegate;
- Undertaking immediate action cleaning duties outside the normal operating hours of the school's cleaning staff; coordinating the removal and/or disposal of rubbish as required;
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements including maintenance of a safe work environment; safe storage and handling of chemicals, fertilisers and fuel; bringing to attention any safety hazards; managing equipment records; and maintaining tools and equipment for repair services.
This is a part-time position working 5 hours per week at a 0.13 FTE for a period of 12 months, unless otherwise determined.
