A successful warehouse manager must have excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and empower their team members. They should also possess strong communication skills, enabling them to effectively coordinate with various stakeholders, including internal departments and clients/suppliers.

The primary responsibilities of a warehouse manager include promoting a safety-first culture, ensuring that appropriate safety protocols are followed, and conducting regular team toolbox meetings. Additionally, they are responsible for managing staff workload distribution, performance management, leave coordination, and staff development and engagement.

They will also be required to develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain liaison with internal departments and client/suppliers to ensure overall site productivity. Furthermore, daily warehouse operations Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as container packs/unpacks, pre-loads, documentation, stock control, and equipment maintenance need to be met.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team, developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, and preparing and managing warehouse budgets/costs.

This is a permanent, full-time position, Monday to Friday, with some weekend availability may be required during peak seasons.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a warehouse operations management position
  • Comprehensive knowledge of warehouse policies and procedures
  • Thorough understanding of primary goods and/or dairy product logistics requirements
  • Demonstrated people management and leadership experience, preferably of a large team, with the ability to coach and motivate others
  • Comfortable conducting difficult conversations
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Safety-focused and alignment with our company values: Safety, People, Respect, Integrity & Being Progressive
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems, inventory software, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Current Victorian Driver's license and own car
