Nurse Unit Manager - Theatres

Lead operating services for Urology and Robotic Services, reporting to the Associate Director of Perioperative Services.

Manage resources and staff within the unit, providing high levels of mentorship and support to nurses.

Ensure a quality, evidence-based practice and a cost-effective service are delivered within a safe patient and team environment.

  • Coordinate the efficient use of operating sessions with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with Nurse Managers, Evening Floor Coordinator, After Hours Manager, Theatre Scheduler, Anaesthetists, and Surgeons.
  • Promote quality activities and coordinate quality improvement projects within the department.

The successful candidate will have excellent leadership skills, with experience in managing theatre operations. They will be responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary teams and promoting a culture of excellence within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans to improve theatre performance.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote high-quality care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including surgeons, anaesthetists, and nursing staff.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Nursing or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in theatre management or a related role.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing teams to achieve exceptional results.
