The Yuin Theatre at the Bay Pavilions features a 350-seat multifunctional performance theatre, community rooms, a visual art gallery, and a fully licensed bar. The Head of Theatre, Arts & Events will oversee theatre operations, including marketing, budgeting, booking shows, liaising with promoters, and reporting to the Arts and Leisure Manager.
This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a diverse team managing aquatics, fitness, and customer experience at a modern facility.
Key Responsibilities- Arts and Theatre Business Development: Develop and implement arts and theatre programs, seek performers and hirers, manage exhibitions, and foster stakeholder relationships. Support marketing efforts and oversee staff recruitment and performance. Manage budgets and operational areas.
- Event Management and Sales: Maximize box office sales, implement customer-focused sales strategies, and train staff in sales techniques. Oversee event calendar and sales campaigns.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain gallery records, manage artwork collections, and prepare reports, proposals, and media releases.
- Service Quality: Oversee service standards, deliver customer experience training, and ensure continuous improvement.
- Leadership: Embody organizational values, act in the best interests of Aligned Leisure and Eurobodalla Shire Council, and lead the team effectively.
- Service Delivery: Ensure outstanding service and memorable experiences for all customers, aligning with our customer charter and service promise.
- Experience in arts, theatre, or gallery management (preferred but not essential)
- Experience with theatre technical operations (lighting, sound, stage equipment) (preferred)
- Management experience is desired
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Marketing or communications experience (advantageous)
- Ability to pass pre-employment checks and maintain a current working with children check
- Willingness to attain first aid and CPR qualifications
