Career Guidance Professional

Job Description:

The primary responsibility of the Career Guidance Professional is to empower students from First Nations communities to achieve academic success and plan their future careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver career guidance services to students through one-on-one and group counseling sessions, focusing on career interests, abilities, and goals.
  • Provide students with information on various career options, education requirements, job outlooks, and other relevant topics to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Help students develop a comprehensive understanding of their skills, strengths, and aptitudes to identify suitable career paths.
  • Collaborate with students to create personalized action plans, outlining short-term and long-term career objectives and strategies for achieving them.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of programs that foster career awareness, exploration, and planning among students.
  • Establish and maintain accurate records of student interactions, progress, and outcomes to inform future guidance initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in delivering career guidance services, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and build strong relationships with school staff and community partners.
  • Proficiency in using technology to support program delivery, including video conferencing platforms.
