Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time lawyer to join our team and work across civil and criminal legal matters. This newly created hybrid position offers a unique opportunity to provide holistic, trauma-informed legal assistance to vulnerable women in regional and remote areas.
The role includes outreach travel and participation in bush courts to deliver high-quality legal advice and representation in civil and criminal law matters. You will be responsible for representing clients in courts and tribunals, and delivering legal support to criminalised women, particularly those impacted by Domestic and Family Violence and systemic disadvantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing high-quality legal advice and representation in civil and criminal law matters
- Representing clients in courts and tribunals, including as a duty lawyer
- Delivering legal support to criminalised women, particularly those impacted by DFV and systemic disadvantage
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Laws degree
- Eligible for a Practising Certificate in the Northern Territory
- Experience in civil or criminal law, preferably with an understanding of DFV and trauma-informed practice
Benefits:
