Job Title: Commercial Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Counsel to join our team at Marsh & McLennan Companies. As a Commercial Counsel, you will play a critical role in providing expert legal advice to our clients and supporting the growth of our business.

About the Role:

The Commercial Counsel will be responsible for:

  • Providing timely and professional legal advice to all aspects of the Marsh & Mercer Australia businesses
  • Working on contracts with clients, suppliers, and the insurance market
  • Analysis of and advice on new and/or changing laws and regulations
  • Identifying liability exposure and providing solutions to manage and reduce risk
  • Effective management of outside counsel and review of outside counsel work product
  • Providing supervision and development to junior team members
  • Liaison between the legal team and the rest of the corporate group

  • Ability to work autonomously and accurately to meet multiple deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of writing and communication skills
  • Ability to draft and edit concisely
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
