Job Overview:

The role of Claims Handler is pivotal in managing the lifecycle of insurance claims, delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality customer interactions via phone calls and written communication.
  • Effectively manage challenging conversations by actively listening, empathizing, and identifying client needs.
  • Lodgment and triaging of incoming claims.
  • Ownership of Death/Terminal Illness (DTI), Total and Permanent Disability (TPD), Income Protection (IP), and Permanent Incapacity (PI) claims, ensuring seamless communication throughout the claim lifecycle.
  • Proactive follow-up on receipt of claim documents with clients and aid in the completion of their forms.
  • Action and complete claim work within agreed service level agreements (SLAs) and escalate any potential SLA risks.
  • Provide information regarding account details without offering financial advice.
  • Participation in ongoing training and upskilling to enhance knowledge and skills within the individual and team.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Claims Officer.
  • Superannuation or industry experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Process-oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives.
