Health and Aged Care Policy Specialist

Key Responsibilities

  • Program management of new and existing workforce programs and grants, including assisting in the development of policy proposals for budget initiatives.
  • Develop, manage, and deliver projects, including project plans, evaluations, and reporting.
  • Interpret, draft, and advise on complex policy directions.
  • Liaise with other sections, external agencies, and stakeholders to facilitate cross-agency implementation and delivery.
  • Prepare briefing materials, correspondence, reports, and products for ministers and industry stakeholders.
  • Contribute to planning and implementing government policies and objectives.
  • Support team objectives, work plans, and strategic planning.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in program and grants management, preferably in the Commonwealth environment.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Organisational and time management skills, including prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines.
