Deugro is seeking a skilled professional to join our team in Perth or Brisbane, Australia. As a key member of the Local and Regional Tender Management (TM) team, you will be responsible for creating, assembling, and delivering commercial tender responses/proposals.

The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge in managing commercial and operational aspects in all major freight forwarding disciplines, including land, air, ocean, and specialized heavy or oversized transport. You will also possess strong commercial, technical, and financial acumen, with effective time management skills and the ability to evaluate competing deadlines and prioritize workflow.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting commercial aspects of tender requests and performing cost analysis
  • Assigning and distributing tasks and rate requests to overseas offices and support functions during bidding process
  • Obtaining and negotiating rates with carriers and deugro sub-contractors
  • Reading ocean and air freight rates, as well as understanding common terms and conditions
  • Calculating rate and price conversion, converting and verifying shipment weight and volume, and using rate charts to convert foreign currency to U.S. Dollars and vice-versa
  • Developing and establishing communication with foreign operations, carriers, and local customers
  • Building relationships with vendors, shippers, customers, carriers, and deugro overseas offices throughout the tendering process
  • Maintaining rate databases, service contracts, and port tariffs, as well as other key documents

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent knowledge in managing commercial and operational aspects in all major freight forwarding disciplines
  • Good working knowledge of domestic and international geography, including countries and major cities
  • Effective time management skills and ability to evaluate competing deadlines and prioritize workflow
  • Strong commercial, technical, and financial acumen
  • Strong organizational skills, including prioritization, planning, assigning, controlling
  • Possess knowledge and/or awareness of risk factors and familiar with basic measures to manage and mitigate risk
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as PC skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, team-focused, self-starter, and detail-oriented
