Transport Operations Manager

Job Summary:
The Transport Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the transportation section of the Transport and Logistics Department, ensuring efficient distribution services to personnel and managing the loading and unloading, movement, and transportation of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Transport specialists, including day and shift workers, and coordinate shift coverages due to personnel absences or management of interruption to Site events.
- Create and manage bus rosters covering all required runs, including alternating schedules for public holidays and other instances as required.
- Coordinate transport requirements for special events.
- Prepare loads for transportation within regulatory guidance.
- Conduct basic pre-inspections of vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy and report any faults to the Transport Supervisor.
- Carry out basic maintenance on vehicles.
- Ensure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements.
- Maintain tracking of all appropriate licenses and endorsements for all Site employees and Transport specialists, and provide training or upskilling where relevant.
- Maintain vehicles in a clean and presentable condition, ensuring registration and insurance requirements are met.
- Maintain records of registration and insurance for all vehicles.
- Maintain health and safety within the workplace by promoting safety awareness initiatives, discussions, and training, encouraging a safety-focused culture, and participating in and reviewing risk assessments for those under their supervision.
Requirements:
- Certificate in Logistics/Transport Operations.
- Minimum Essential Current Drivers Licence.
- Forklift Licence.
- H Endorsement.
- HR Licence.
- Experience in transportation roles.
- Leadership and Management.
- Knowledge of Transport Regulations.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
The position is desk-based and sedentary in nature, with occasional lifting of items up to 5kgs. The ability to lift items up to 10kgs independently is required. Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting, and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and the ability to work under deadlines.
Statement of Work Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Able to fluently read, write, and speak English.
- Australian or US citizen.
EHS Requirement:
All Amentum personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with all site environmental, health, and safety requirements. While Amentum is responsible for providing a safe workplace and ensuring compliance with requirements of the Handbook, each person is responsible for completing work tasks in a safe manner, reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to their supervisor and/or PMO/EHS Manager, and continuous adherence to the environmental, health, and safety procedures outlined in the Handbook during the performance of their work.
Pre-Employment Checks:
