A vital link in the nation's transport supply chain, our team manages complex operations across 39 worksites and the lands of more than 50 First Nations. We're committed to expanding and modernising our rail network, investing billions of dollars to ensure its efficiency and sustainability.
Our Operations TeamOur Operations team collaborates with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network transports bulk products, passenger, and general freight, including steel and consumer goods for both import and export markets.
The Operations teams work within challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia, to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable service delivery outcomes for customers, stakeholders, and the community.
About the OpportunityThis role involves delivering work allocated by the Work Group Leader (Signals) or Area Manager to ensure the operational integrity and efficiency of a designated section of rail corridor.
- Install, modify, maintain, and repair signalling and communication equipment according to technical maintenance plans, signalling discipline standards, practices, and safeworking procedures.
- Examine and test signalling equipment, diagnose and isolate faults, and ensure appropriate certificates are submitted.
- Install and maintain mechanical signalling locking, interlocking devices, and infrastructure.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A qualified electrician background
- Relevant trade or technical experience
- Knowledge of or an awareness of WHS principles and relevant rail safety legislation
- Experience in fault-finding, maintenance, and repairs
- Written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to apply quality systems, policies, and procedures
- Customer service focus
- Current Class C drivers license
- ARTC Statement of Competency (Signals) or demonstrated ability to attain as per Signals Competency Assessment (EST-20-03)
