Lab Operations Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team in Ballarat. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a laboratory environment and be able to manage priorities within allocated timeframes.

The successful applicant will conduct microbiological and analytical analysis of raw materials, hygiene, in-process, environmental and finished products according to Mars Global Quality & Food Safety requirements. Additionally, they will maintain and input into lab processes, including consumables, lab, and equipment cleaning.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

• A Science degree (preferably in Microbiology) or relevant laboratory experience

• Availability to work 20-38 hours per week with flexibility to work some weekends

• Reliable transportation to Ballarat

Laboratory Technician Responsibilities:

  • Conduct microbiological and analytical analysis of raw materials, hygiene, in-process, environmental and finished products
  • Maintain and input into lab processes, including consumables, lab, and equipment cleaning
  • Provide reports and data upon request of the Laboratory manager disposition management of finished products
  • Awareness and adherence to Laboratory safety and Good Laboratory Practices
