The Civil and Road Rehabilitation Operations Manager position is available to an experienced Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager with strong civil infrastructure experience.

Job Description

This role involves managing and delivering multiple civil projects across metro and regional areas. You will oversee teams, liaise with clients (including local councils), and ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget outcomes.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Plan, manage, and execute road rehabilitation and civil works projects.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
  • Manage budgets, project schedules, and contract compliance.
  • Coordinate plant, resources, and procurement needs.
  • Support multiple small- to medium-sized jobs concurrently.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, particularly local councils.
  • E nsure safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
  • Prepare project reports, cost reviews, and technical updates.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this opportunity, you must demonstrate the following:

  • Degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience managing civil projects, particularly in roadworks, drainage, earthworks, pavements, and/or asphalt.
  • Experience delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience working with or for local councils (highly desirable).
  • Familiarity with asphalt and concrete materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication - written and verbal.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring ability.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Calm, professional approach under pressure.
  • Strong commercial awareness and conflict resolution skills.
  • Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Current Driver's Licence.
