About This Role

A high-volume bakery position is available for an experienced butcher who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will prepare and bake large quantities of bakery products to meet customer demand. They will also be responsible for assisting other departments as needed, adhering to proper safety and sanitation procedures, and providing excellent customer service.
  • The butcher will inspect and reassemble equipment that has been sanitized overnight, rework display cases to reflect daily production needs, and rotate product accordingly.
  • They will bring heavy meat cases from the cooler to the meat cutting or preparation area, cut and trim meat to specifications using band saws and knives, operate tenderizing machines, and follow safety and security procedures.
  • The butcher will also operate a meat mincer, dump meat into the machine, check fat content, and ensure the quality and consistency of finished products.
  • In addition, they will transfer cut and ground meat to trays, load them onto plastic containers, and assist with wrapping and stocking the meat case according to the Meat Manager's plan.
  • The successful candidate will maintain a clean and sanitary workspace throughout the day, including the coolroom, and perform duties to comply with health regulations.
  • They will also perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment and assist with monthly stocktakes.

Requirements

This role requires previous butchery experience and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality products to customers.
