About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to contribute to our exciting NHMRC MRFF targeted funding projects focused on improving diagnosis pathways and treatment management for sleep apnoea.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Chief Investigator, facilitating research projects and enhancing productivity through project preparation, ethics navigation, clinical trials, and milestone reporting. You will also play a key role in publishing your findings, making a significant impact in the field.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to guide and support students involved in the research, nurturing their growth in line with the University's policies and standards.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will exhibit:

  • Completion of a PhD in sleep health or a relevant related field (e.g., respiratory or human physiology) or significant progress towards completion of a PhD in sleep health or a relevant related field
  • Record of research in sleep health or a relevant related field, with a strong record of research achievements relative to opportunity
  • Research experience in terms of publications and presentations at a national and/or international level in a relevant field
  • Ability in preparing ethics and governance applications and reporting
  • Experience of conducting research in a sleep laboratory setting
  • Clear understanding of and commitment to social accountability as it applies to research in this discipline

FHMRI Sleep Health conducts world-leading transdisciplinary research to advance knowledge of sleep, sleep disorders, and develop new treatments to improve sleep. It is situated within the College of Medicine and Public Health and provides a sleep disorders clinical service with a primary focus on treatment for insomnia and sleep disordered breathing.
