The Procurement Specialist role plays a critical part in ensuring the effective management of third-party relationships within the business.

This position supports the organization in upholding compliance and risk appetite requirements related to onboarding and ongoing management of suppliers.

Key responsibilities include conducting due diligence, monitoring third-party performance, and maintaining contractual obligations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supporting teams during supplier selection, procurement, and onboarding while adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Developing and implementing annual calendars for third-party management activities, including contract updates, risk assessments, and governance tasks.
  • Serving as liaison between suppliers and business service owners to ensure awareness and communication of changes and updates.
  • Coordinating and participating in updates or activities required as part of regulatory, policy, or business change initiatives.
  • Designing and executing contract audits and supplier controls to drive business value.
  • Acting as key contact point for business continuity activities across the organization, collaborating with experts in Business Continuity Management and Technology Risk teams.
  • Providing analysis and reporting on supplier usage, value, and compliance, including managing events, issues, and related risk activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5-10 years' experience in a banking or financial services role or related industry.
  • Experience working in an agile environment, understanding third-party risk, procurement, and business continuity processes.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance regimes relevant to third-party suppliers and partners in Financial Services.
  • A sound understanding of operational risk processes, including risk assessment, issue, and event management.
  • Natural curiosity and strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes and find solutions.
  • Data fluency, attention to detail, and passion for deriving insights from data.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, able to collaborate with diverse groups of stakeholders.
