About the Role

The Community Programs Manager is a key position in our organization, responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team to implement and improve programs that address environmental and social factors impacting health and wellbeing outcomes for Indigenous communities.

This role requires strong leadership skills, with experience in community-based public health or workforce development programs, ideally within Indigenous and remote settings. You will oversee workforce development initiatives to create employment and training pathways for Indigenous people and ensure the safety and security of staff in daily and after-hours operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement programs that address environmental and social factors impacting health and wellbeing outcomes for Indigenous communities
  • Develop and manage budgets to support program delivery
  • Build partnerships with government agencies, funding bodies, and community organizations to secure resources and support for programs
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation within the team, encouraging experimentation and learning from failures
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to employees to develop their skills and abilities

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in community-based public health or workforce development programs, ideally within Indigenous and remote settings
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in developing and managing budgets and teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build relationships with stakeholders and community members
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving health equity and creating meaningful employment pathways for Indigenous people
