Nganampa Nganampa Health Council (NHC) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation.
We deliver high-quality primary health care across the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands in the far northwest of South Australia.
The APY LandsHome to approximately 3,000 residents, the APY Lands border the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
Anangu culture is strong, with Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara being first languages.
Our TeamCommunity Programs brings together environmental health and welfare program Uwankara Palyanyku Kanyintjaku, Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS), and Anangu Workforce Development Program (AWD).
A newly formed team focused on strengthening our Anangu workforce and second responder program, as well as active involvement of Anangu in management and operation of programs.
The RoleYou will lead a multi-disciplinary team to implement and improve programs addressing environmental and social factors impacting health and wellbeing outcomes for Anangu.
Public health initiatives like the Tackling Indigenous Smoking Program are also part of this role.
You'll oversee workforce development initiatives creating employment and training pathways for Anangu, ensuring staff safety and security in daily and after-hours operations.
About YouTo succeed, you'll bring experience leading community-based public health or workforce development programs, ideally within Indigenous and remote settings.
Understanding of government and philanthropic funding in public, environmental, or Indigenous health and wellbeing areas is essential.
- Strong intercultural engagement skills and ability to build trust and meaningful relationships
- Committed mentoring and coaching approach to employee management
- Demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, funding bodies, and community organisations and groups
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt in dynamic, cross-cultural, remote working environments
- Experience in program analysis and design, impact reporting, and project management
- Strong focus on and commitment to fostering Indigenous self-determination
