We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Vehicle Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of workshop management, ensuring the efficient operation of heavy vehicles, forklifts, compactors and plant machinery.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong technical knowledge and leadership skills. You will supervise a team of internal staff and coordinate the efforts of external contractors, prioritizing urgent breakdowns to minimize downtime in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading your team with effective guidance and mentoring
  • Quickly diagnosing and repairing modern diesel trucks, forklifts, compactors and plant equipment
  • Scheduling and coordinating maintenance to ensure all machinery remains service-ready and compliant
  • Managing procurement and inventory, including ordering parts and tracking stock
  • Maintaining accurate records of fleet logs, maintenance history and compliance documentation
  • Serving as the primary liaison for suppliers, contractors, logistics and operations teams

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A qualified diesel mechanic with an HR driver's license (mandatory)
  • Demonstrated experience working with heavy vehicles and plant machinery
  • Strong procurement and inventory management skills
  • Competency with maintenance management systems and basic IT tools
  • A calm and adaptable approach under pressure
  • Proven leadership experience managing both employees and contractors
