Student Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Student Support Specialist.

This role involves providing holistic support to students, helping them achieve their academic goals while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Offer generalist support and guidance to students on various matters, including financial assistance, accommodation, social connections, and overall well-being.
  • Support academically challenged student cohorts by assessing their well-being needs and referring them to relevant services when necessary.
  • Provide support through one-on-one sessions, group talks, workshops, resource creation, and collaborating with educators to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Assist students with queries related to student life, including finances, accommodation, transportation, culture, support networks, clubs, and activities.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated expertise in community services and a deep understanding of the sector.
  • Experience in delivering tailored information and advice to individuals from diverse cultural, social, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Advanced networking, collaboration, influencing, and advocacy skills.
  • A postgraduate qualification in Counselling/Psychology/Social Work/Youth Work and knowledge of community, government, and private welfare support services.
