Job Role: Building Inspector

We are seeking a seasoned and experienced Building Inspector - HBM Specialist to join our Health & Safety Services department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments, monitoring, clearances, and building inspections for hazardous materials.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations, such as ADE WHS, Asbestos Awareness, and Pb Awareness, through continuous learning and training.
  • Implement effective control measures and exposure monitoring strategies.
  • Establish and manage asbestos laboratories.
  • Maintain detailed project records, including variations, audits, and timely invoicing.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and leverage technology for efficient reporting.
  • Foster repeat business by delivering exceptional client care and innovative solutions.
  • Cultivate strong communication with subject matter experts and review directors for quality assurance support.
  • Liaise with coordinators and business unit managers for resource allocation and project reporting.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in asbestos hygiene and HAZMAT projects and consultancy, from quote to project closure.
  • Proven expertise in ASB lab counting and identification, ideally with NATA certification.
  • Holding current PTA for ASB counting and ID.
  • Eligibility for NSW LAA license, ACT (preferably).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Hold a white card, WAH, EWP, and confined space certifications (preferably).
  • Working with vulnerable people/children, ACT.
  • Proficiency in asbestos-impacted soil sampling for waste classification (preferably).
  • Air quality, mold, noise, and vibration monitoring, and risk assessment experience (desirable).
  • Occupational hygiene competence, including the Principles of Occupational Hygiene Course.
  • Thriving in fast-paced environments serving multiple clients.
  • Current and valid Australian driver's license.
  • Australian citizenship or right to work in Australia.
