Cerebral Palsy Alliance is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Practitioner to join our team on the Northern Beaches. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients with disabilities to develop and maintain their independence.
Key Responsibilities- Client Support: Provide personalized support to clients with disabilities, including assistance with daily living activities, personal care, and medication administration.
- Transportation: Safely transport clients in our wheelchair-accessible vans and pool cars.
- Advocacy: Advocate for clients' individual needs and support them in achieving their goals.
- Commitment to Disability Support: Demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs of people with disabilities.
- Flexibility: Be flexible to work on a 24/7 rotating roster, including morning, afternoon, and night shifts, as well as weekend and public holiday shifts.
- Experience: Have experience supporting clients with intellectual disability, high physical support needs, and medical/health needs.
- Driver's Licence: Hold a current NSW Driver's Licence (P2 minimum).
- Local Knowledge: Be local to the Northern Beaches area, with a strong understanding of the community and its needs.
- Competitive Remuneration: Receive an attractive hourly rate, plus superannuation and penalty rates.
- Well-being Allowance: Enjoy a $100 per year well-being allowance to support your physical and mental health.
- Professional Development: Have the opportunity to complete a nationally recognized qualification, such as Certificate III in Individual Support.
- Specialist Training: Access specialist training opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Buddy Shifts: Participate in buddy shifts with experienced Disability Support Workers to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
