The payroll function is an essential component of any organisation's operations. It involves the management of employee salaries, wages, and other benefits.
About the RoleAs a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for providing a highly effective payroll service across the organisation. This includes maintaining a close relationship with the People and Culture team to ensure a smooth employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Action and authenticate employee variations via payroll software
- Process end-to-end casual fortnightly payrun
- Prepare and process termination payments, including Long Service Leave calculation
- Assist with processing the monthly payrun
- Prepare and coordinate the monthly PAYG payment
- Responsible for payroll setup of new employees
- Conduct payroll induction for new hires
- Update monthly and fortnightly salary packaging deductions
- Follow up on leave and timesheet submissions that require action
- Entry level payroll experience, basic payroll software skills
- Payroll software experience highly desirable
- Developing knowledge of payroll related legislation, rules, policies, regulations, agreements (including EBA), awards and other compliance
- Knowledge of tax compliance and in particular salary packaging related to the sector
- A strong team player with advanced customer service skills
- Excellent inter-personal skills with an ability to engage with a wide range of staff and executive management
- An understanding of Human Resource principles and practices
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to review and make recommendations on process improvement
- Development of payroll reports via various software packages
- Experience in a customer service environment
