When children and young people thrive, so do our communities and our state. The Aboriginal Education Directorate plays a pivotal role in providing strategic cultural and policy advice on national and state policy direction relating to Aboriginal Education. They contribute to the implementation of the Department's Aboriginal Education Strategy.

The Aboriginal Services Engagement Officer occupies a crucial position in supporting the attendance, social and emotional wellbeing and engagement and participation in learning of Aboriginal children, young people and their families/carers. They collaborate with various stakeholders to provide guidance in the implementation of strategies identified in the Department of Education's Aboriginal Strategy.

To be successful in this role, applicants must possess a Certificate 4 or higher qualification in education, human/community services or equivalent experience. Additionally, they must undergo a Department for Human Services working with children check and complete either the RRHAN-EC Facilitator Lead Masterclass extended course or the online Fundamentals course.
