Community Support Role

At our residential services, we strive to provide a supportive environment for individuals experiencing homelessness.

This is where you come in - as a dedicated Community Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping residents regain control of their lives and move towards sustainable living.

Your responsibilities will include providing individual and group support to residents, promoting independent living skills, well-being, recreation, and social engagement. You will also plan and facilitate group activities that meet residents' needs, support access to internal and external services, and collaborate with caseworkers and partner services.

Key aspects of this role include:

  • Providing person-centred support to residents
  • Facilitating group activities that promote social engagement and well-being
  • Collaborating with caseworkers and partner services to ensure residents receive comprehensive support

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Services or a related field
  • Experience in homelessness or housing services (desirable)
  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to build rapport with residents
  • Practical understanding of trauma-informed care and strengths-based practice
