3D Design Specialist


About the Role:
  • We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical 3D Designer to create technical drawings and develop 3D models.
  • Duties include creating layouts, arrangements, assemblies, and details of mechanical equipment.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in 3D CAD software, including Autodesk Inventor and Autocad.
  • A strong understanding of Australian standards is also required.

Responsibilities:
  1. Create detailed designs and technical drawings for mechanical equipment.
  2. Develop 3D models and details using input from engineers and senior designers.
  3. Determine factors such as tolerances, dimensioning, weldability, and ease of assembly.
  4. Ensure designs meet company procedures, regulations, and client standards.
  5. Assist with field and manufacturing problems.
  6. Contribute to site services and engineering functions, including design reviews, risk assessments, and execution activities.

Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, including Autodesk Inventor and Autocad.
  • 5+ years' experience in a design role or related experience.
  • Bulk Material Handling or Heavy Industrial/Mining Industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of Australian standards such as AS4024, AS1100, AS1654, and AS1657.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full Driver's License.
