Work as a 3D Mechanical Designer/Draftsperson

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced designer to create technical drawings and 3D models in Wollongong, Australia.

  • Develop and design technical drawings for layouts, arrangements, assemblies, and details.
  • Create 3D models and details based on input from engineers and senior designers.
  • Determine factors such as tolerances, dimensioning, weldability, and ease of assembly.
  • Ensure designs meet company procedures, regulations, and client standards.
  • Collaborate with the field and manufacturing teams to resolve problems.
  • Contribute to site services and engineering functions including design reviews, risk assessments, and execution activities.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline such as mechanical engineering or drafting.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software particularly Autodesk Inventor, Autocad, Professional Vault, and Navisworks.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a design role or related field.
  • Bulk Material Handling or Heavy Industrial/Mining Industry experience.
  • Belt Conveyor Design experience.
  • Working knowledge of Australian standards such as AS4024, AS1100, AS1654, and AS1657.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full Driver's License.
