Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled 3D mechanical designer/draftsperson to create technical drawings and 3D models for conveyor system design and installation.
- Create detailed technical drawings, including layouts, arrangements, assemblies, and details, using Autodesk Inventor and other relevant software.
- Collaborate with engineers and senior designers to develop 3D models and designs that meet client standards and company procedures.
- Determine factors such as tolerances, dimensioning, weldability, and ease of assembly to ensure high-quality designs.
- Assist with field and manufacturing problems, providing solutions to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Participate in site services and engineering functions, including design reviews, risk assessments, and execution activities.
Requirements
- You hold tertiary qualifications in a related discipline, such as mechanical engineering or drafting.
- You have demonstrated proficiency in 3D CAD software, including Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
- You possess 5+ years of experience in a design role or related experience, with a strong background in bulk material handling or heavy industrial/mining industry.
- You are familiar with Australian standards, including AS4024, AS1100, AS1654, and AS1657.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- You hold a full driver's license.
