Job Summary

The successful candidate will join a structured team working on various projects including universities, schools, residential and commercial developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyzing blueprints and documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labor costs vs estimates.
  • All quantity surveying duties including measurements, valuation and agreement of work sections.
  • Experience in project management, competent in all forms of estimating packages, Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Consultation with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction manager/supervisors to discuss cost.
  • Monitoring cost from vendors or subcontractors, exploring variances, managing issues in conjunction with manager, dealing with cost overseas and recovery.
  • Reporting on actual costs and examining estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing and scheduling work.
  • Preparing cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
  • Assessing the cost-effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying.
  • 4+ years post-college experience with a PQS.
  • Experienced in managing and mentoring JQS.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
