The Opportunity

Our Health Care Management (HCM) department is embarking on a new strategic direction that involves a large program of work spanning across Health Insurance (HI) and the broader Bupaoptical business. This program will execute the HCM strategic plan and includes large strategic initiatives and significant changes. The introduction of a dedicated HCM Program Delivery and Execution team will support the ways of working for project delivery of strategic and business-as-usual (BAU) projects.

The Role

The Senior Manager, Program Delivery will lead a team of Delivery Managers and will partner closely with the Senior Manager, Program Execution, initiative owner/s, business leaders across Bupaoptical HI and technology teams. The goal is to deliver high-quality, senior-level project management services, support, and experience, driving HCM strategic initiatives for our customers and providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Outcomes - Engage business leaders and develop effective stakeholder relationships to understand and agree the business, customer, and/or provider needs and facilitate successful project outcomes that meet those needs.
  • Project Initiation - Where the Project is not yet underway, work closely with the Business Initiative Owner to initiate the project by preparing the necessary documents. Ensure adequate business consultation and analysis is done to establish scope and mandatory requirements.
  • Governance & Control - Establish and monitor appropriate project governance for each stream within the project(s) and ensure alignment with the Delivery Hub and Portfolio governance and reporting framework, including updating the Wave system.
  • Communications Management - Clearly and regularly communicate with key stakeholders and ensure the project Sponsor is comfortable and confident that the project is on track and achieving deliverables and project benefits. Ensure all monthly Project Status Reports are communicated on time and at the required level of quality.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • 5+ years Program Management experience, including a minimum 2 years running large and complex projects.
  • Formal Project Management, Agile Project Management, Six Sigma, or Lean Certification (required).
  • Recognised People leader with practical experience with the ability to build strong teams with purpose and focus.
  • Experience running multiple projects in parallel with high complexity and multiple dependencies.
  • Demonstrated experience in project status reporting, scheduling, dependency management, milestone tracking techniques, financial/budget management, and risk management.
  • Proven experience in detailed program scoping and implementation.
  • Proven track record negotiating successful outcomes with Sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Proven expertise in influencing and managing senior leaders and technology teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive effective solutions and deliver business outcomes.
  • Experience in Agile project delivery (and knowing when and how to best use it).
  • Expert knowledge using and interpreting Microsoft Project (or another scheduling tool) and agile delivery tools (e.g., Azure Dev Ops, Confluence) is essential.
