About the Job

Use your life experience to empower individuals in achieving recovery and wellness goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Employ your personal experiences of mental health challenges to deliver person-centred, recovery-focused support.
  • Work collaboratively with people to enhance daily living skills, strengthen social connections, and foster a sense of purpose.
  • Provide resources and support to help individuals build positive relationships with those important to them.
  • Support people to navigate services and connect with community supports that aid them in building confidence, independence, and meaningful participation in daily life.
Requirements:
  • Completion of Intentional Peer Support Core and/or Advanced Training, or Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work, is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) are required in Mental Health, Peer Work, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) or other health-related field as designated by Mind Australia.
  • Previous experience in utilising lived experience and expertise in a dedicated Peer role is highly desirable.
