The library technology innovation role is a vital component of our service delivery strategy. Our council values integrity, empowerment, respect, teamwork, and innovation in all aspects of our operations.

As a Coordinator for Library Technology & Innovation, you will play a key part in planning, managing, and delivering innovative technologies to support our contemporary library service. The successful candidate will provide leadership and change management across the library team for the enhancement and adoption of library systems and technology.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic leadership and direction for effective enhancement and adoption of library systems and technology
  • Collaborating with internal departments and external partners to ensure that library systems and technology meet our standards and requirements
  • Assessing, planning, implementing, managing, and maintaining technology-based library solutions to maximise benefit gained by staff and customers
  • Managing contracts, tenders, and procurement processes related to technology projects and maintenance, ensuring compliance and effective vendor performance
  • Extracting and analysing data from libraries' systems to determine usage and effectiveness of library services and resources

To succeed in this role, ideally you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in information technology, computer science, or a related field
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in information technology planning and analysis, including identifying benefits of potential solutions to library systems and community outcomes
