Job Title: Library Technology Leader

Georges River Council is seeking an exceptional leader to manage our library information technology team.

The role involves overseeing the efficient and effective operations of Georges River Libraries, delivering high-quality services, research, programs, and collections. You will lead the team responsible for providing technology, systems, and digital services to support the accessibility and delivery of library services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team that delivers technology, systems, and digital services to support library services.
  • Contribute to the efficient and effective operations of Georges River Libraries.
  • Implement new technologies to enhance library services.
  • Supervise staff and provide performance feedback, guidance, and support.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including community members, staff, and other organizations.
  • Stay up-to-date with current public library technology and digital resource trends.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Science or equivalent.
  • Current Working with Children's Check.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence (Class C).
  • Demonstrated high-level skills and experience in leading, implementing, and evaluating functional system and technological solutions.
  • Demonstrated high-level skills and experience in system management and administration, including database management, data reporting, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong commitment and proven ability to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused library service.
  • Demonstrated analytical, time management, organizational, financial, project management, and creative problem-solving skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in local government.
  • Leadership experience in a public library.
  • Qualification, or specialisation, in Information Technology or Systems Administration.
