Remote Area Conservation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Trainee Ranger to join our team in the Kimberley Region.
The successful candidate will participate in various activities related to conservation, parks, and wildlife work, including prescribed burning, bushfire suppression, fauna and flora protection, infrastructure construction and maintenance, support of tourism and recreational activities, and operation of associated machinery.
Key Responsibilities:- Conservation and Parks Work: Participate in prescribed burning, bushfire suppression, and fauna and flora protection.
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Contribute to infrastructure construction and maintenance, and support of tourism and recreational activities.
- Machinery Operation: Operate associated machinery and equipment.
This position offers development opportunities for Aboriginal people, with preference given to Yawuru Community members or approved Yawuru applicants.
Selection Criteria:- Aboriginality is a genuine requirement for this position, with preference given to Yawuru community members or approved Yawuru applicants.
- Experience or interest in working on country and ability to participate in manual activities related to conservation and recreation management.
- Evidence of ability to liaise and interact in a positive manner, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate equipment such as chainsaws, brush cutters, and common maintenance tools.
