Kimberley Community Services Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Remote Legal Professional to join our dynamic team in Western Australia.

About the Role

As a Remote Legal Professional, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver legal advice, information, advocacy, representation, and education services to clients throughout the Kimberley region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal advice, assistance, and representation to clients as part of an integrated service.
  • Offer professional support, mentorship, and supervision to other staff as required.
  • Participate in identifying law reform priorities and strategies to address them.
  • Build and maintain relationships with referring agencies, key organizations, community leaders, and local people relevant to the area.
  • Undertake ongoing professional development activities to enhance your knowledge and skills.
We are searching for candidates who meet most of the following selection criteria:
  • Eligibility to hold a practising certificate in WA (restricted or unrestricted).
  • Well-developed casework and advocacy experience in generalist areas of law, including tenancy, child protection, family violence, or family law.
  • Experience in a community legal practice setting and/or community-based organization in remote and rural Australia.
  • Highly developed written and interpersonal communication skills, and ability to apply these skills with a diverse range of people, groups, and organizations.
