Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workers' Compensation Specialist to join our team at Randstad. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Council's workers compensation claims, implementing targeted injury management initiatives, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage workers compensation claims and ensure compliance with relevant legislation
  • Implement targeted injury management initiatives to facilitate early and sustainable return to work
  • Develop and implement return to work programs for early intervention, personal injury, and workers compensation claims
  • Lead Council's health monitoring program and review and analyze injury data to develop and report on monthly injury management statistics

Requirements

  • Return to Work Accreditation
  • Demonstrated experience in return to work coordination, occupational therapy, rehabilitation, or return to work
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative and act independently to ensure excellence in customer service, best practice, and achievement of outcomes
  • Ability to interpret and apply workers compensation legislative standards and guidelines
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Essential Requirements

  • Current Driver's Licence (Class C)
  • Ability to physically meet the requirements of the role
  • Participation in Council's random drug and alcohol testing
  • Participation in all staff orientation, mandatory, and compliance training relevant to role responsibilities

WHS Responsibility

Implement, monitor, and comply with Council's WHS Management System, including WHS Policies, Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments/Work instructions, and associated systems tools in their relevant work area.

Adequately familiarise and actively fulfil all WHS responsibilities as indicated in Council's WHS Roles and Responsibilities Matrix.
