Mental Health Support Specialist

There is a need for a Specialised Mental Health Care Professional to deliver high-quality mental health care services to individuals and their families in the Katherine West region.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide culturally safe mental health care through direct contact with clients and families or by providing advice to other healthcare professionals.
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, risk assessments, emergency support, treatment, and case management services, along with a range of therapeutic interventions to support people affected by mental health conditions.
- Promote mental health awareness and engage in primary prevention activities in partnership with relevant stakeholders, community organisations, consumers, and carers.
- Eligibility to register as a general registered nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and possession of a current practising certificate.
- Understanding of Aboriginal cultural values and commitment to the advancement and self-determination of Aboriginal communities.
