A & R Manager Position

Central Station Records is looking for an A&R Manager who can discover emerging artists, sign and develop them, and curate the musical content of our labels.

The successful candidate will be responsible for scouting and identifying suitable artists, signing and developing them, and being the face of the label in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Scout and identify emerging artists
  • Sign and develop artists and producers
  • Represent the label to partners and other businesses
  • Work with label staff on releases, including creation and implementation
  • Facilitate audio recordings by artists, hiring of producers, song selection, studio locations etc.
  • Develop knowledge of record producers, songwriters, mixers, video directors, photographers, and other professionals associated with the A&R process
  • Evaluate brand plans against artist and label strategies (local and international)
  • Collaborate with Promotions, Marketing & Design Managers on album and single art packaging, videos, digital content, photos, and tools for all releases
  • Process invoices as necessary
  • Cordinate mixing and mastering of album and single releases
  • Liaise and work with label management and production department on release schedule planning and timely distribution and delivery of assets
  • Maintain knowledge of overseas and domestic charts, trends, cycles, and cultures to enhance A&R decision making
  • Nurture relationships with the wider music industry
  • Evaluate artist concepts for marketability and target consumer behaviours
  • Collaborate with legal to ensure contracts and agreements secure rights in the best interests of the business
  • Assist with events and touring wing
  • Create and maintain Spotify and Apple Playlists in conjunction with the marketing department

Required Skills and Qualifications: Record label, management, agency or dance music industry experience is beneficial. Knowledge and passion for music, understanding of A&R, and empathy with artists and the creative process are essential.
