Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Construction Operations Specialist to undertake various construction, maintenance, and inspection tasks for Council-owned buildings and facilities.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking construction and maintenance tasks as directed by the Structures and Concrete Supervisor.
  • They will provide work progress reports to the Structures and Concrete Supervisor.
  • The role involves managing Council's electrical goods test and tag program.
  • Assistance with building specifications and estimates for building projects is also required.
  • The Construction Operations Specialist will inspect and program Council buildings maintenance.
  • Responsiveness to work requests in a prompt and professional manner is essential.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role primarily takes place outdoors, exposing the employee to changing weather conditions. The ability to work in hot and humid climates and perform manual laboring tasks requiring full human movement range is necessary.

Requirements

  • A Building Trade certificate or equivalent qualification is mandatory.
  • A current General Construction Induction Card is required.
  • A valid Queensland 'C' Class Driver's Licence is needed.
  • Effective communication skills are essential.
