System Technician Job Description

Pavion is seeking a skilled and experienced System Technician to join our security business unit. As a global leader in fire, security, and communication integration solutions, we specialize in designing, installing, servicing, and maintaining cutting-edge systems.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-4 years' experience with the service, installation, and commissioning of low-voltage/data communication systems, including security (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion) and wireless communication. They will also possess strong technical skills, including proficiency in cabling best practices, device installation, and troubleshooting.

The System Technician will be responsible for performing repair/maintenance and moves, adds, and changes of Mission Critical systems throughout New England. This will include working with security systems, access control, intrusion detection, and wireless communication. The technician will also be required to perform preventative maintenance and system upgrades as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain Mission Critical systems, including security systems, access control, intrusion detection, and wireless communication.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and system upgrades as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system issues.
  • Install and terminate cables and wires.
  • Work with low-voltage crimp tools, testing tools, and other construction-related tools.
  • Collaborate with the Service Team Lead to ensure effective communication and daily updates on assigned calls or tasks.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years' experience with the service, installation, and commissioning of low-voltage/data communication systems.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in cabling best practices, device installation, and troubleshooting.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • MA State D-License (required for MA Security work).
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel throughout New England as required.
  • Ability to work off-hours when projects require it.
  • Ability to participate in the Service Department on-call rotation as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with integrated security control systems within Detention Facilities, Prisons, and Courts and other sensitive environments.
  • Industry/manufacturer certifications.
  • RI TST Data Licensing.
  • Firestop Certified (Hilti or 3M).
  • Boom and scissor Lift Certified.
