This leadership position is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated nurse to make a meaningful impact in the emergency department. As a lead nursing manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the provision of high-quality patient care and ensuring the efficient management of nursing staff.
About the Role- Job Summary:
- Lead and direct an appropriate and safe standard of care within a multidisciplinary team for all patients within the Unit.
- Monitor and manage the business and management functions and processes of the ward or unit.
- As the leader of the unit, the NUM will demonstrate their capability through attitude, skills, behaviour, and attributes.
- Demonstrated broad nursing/midwifery experience and knowledge.
- Understanding and acceptance that patients are the central focus of service delivery.
- Demonstrated professional integrity; ethical conduct, accountability, advocacy, enabling others.
- Cultivation of collaborative relationships and effective teamwork.
- Lead and manage a team of nurses to provide high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the quality of patient care.
- Recruit, train, and develop nursing staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care.
- Maintain accurate records and reports to monitor patient progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Education:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse(Division 1).
- Postgraduate qualification in leadership/management.
- Skills:
- Motivational leadership skills.
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to set priorities and achieve objectives.
- Able to create and maintain a positive workplace culture.
- Foster collaborative relationships and effective teamwork.
