This leadership position is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated nurse to make a meaningful impact in the emergency department. As a lead nursing manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the provision of high-quality patient care and ensuring the efficient management of nursing staff.

About the Role
  • Job Summary:
  • Lead and direct an appropriate and safe standard of care within a multidisciplinary team for all patients within the Unit.
  • Monitor and manage the business and management functions and processes of the ward or unit.
  • As the leader of the unit, the NUM will demonstrate their capability through attitude, skills, behaviour, and attributes.
  • Demonstrated broad nursing/midwifery experience and knowledge.
  • Understanding and acceptance that patients are the central focus of service delivery.
  • Demonstrated professional integrity; ethical conduct, accountability, advocacy, enabling others.
  • Cultivation of collaborative relationships and effective teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and manage a team of nurses to provide high-quality patient care.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  4. Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the quality of patient care.
  5. Recruit, train, and develop nursing staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care.
  6. Maintain accurate records and reports to monitor patient progress and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education:
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse(Division 1).
  • Postgraduate qualification in leadership/management.
  • Skills:
  • Motivational leadership skills.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and achieve objectives.
  • Able to create and maintain a positive workplace culture.
  • Foster collaborative relationships and effective teamwork.
